Home Renovation: Local/Remote
Are you looking to renovate your home? Whether you are local to us (in the state of Texas) or if you are remote (anywhere in the world), we can help you with your renovation needs. We have our own contracting crew for local residents and work alongside your contractor of choice if you are remote.
Within this design package, we help you design and plan your renovation from start to finish. We offer 2D CAD drawings of any layout changes needed, develop design concepts and mood boards, source materials, guide the client in material selection, work with contractors, help guide clients through construction bids and estimates, help with project management, and ensure all projects are done the way we would have them done with on-site visits upon request for remote clients. Included is a shareable spreadsheet that contains budget monitoring, transparent work hours, and pages for each room with shoppable links, design notes, lead times, costs/discounts, etc. Our spreadsheet will be our “headquarters” so you have awareness every step of the way!
To retain our services, it’s an initial $1500 retainer to book for renovation projects requiring contractor work, which includes our first on-site meeting for local clients or first Zoom meeting for home review, the first 5 design hours, plus the time to create up to 3 room concept boards in our program (each takes about an hour to develop) along with updating your spreadsheet.
For renovation projects, additional design hours will more than likely be needed. Design hours include time spent on concept development, design formulations, communication with vendors and contractors, sample selecting, coordinating project flow, furnishing/material sourcing, etc. These will be billed at our hourly design rate of $100/hour as we manage the project from overseeing contractors, creating designs, mocking up samples, sourcing items, and more. This is made transparent to clients in our spreadsheet so no surprise billing.
If on-site visits are required or desired, additional fees may be determined. Standard travel rates are $50/hour of drive-time for an on-site visit if the site is more than one hour away. If flying is required, fees will be discussed with client. Any travel under an hour is no charge.

Multiple Room Design.
If you are looking to redecorate 3 rooms, this is your package! It’s our most popular redecorating package due to the savings- it’s like getting a room for free!
Within this design package, we help you design and furnish your spaces of choice (up to 3 rooms). We offer 2D CAD drawings of furniture layout suggestions, develop design concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and source furnishings within your budgetary and time needs. Included is a shareable spreadsheet that contains budget monitoring, transparent work hours, and pages for each room with shoppable links, design notes, lead times, costs/discounts, etc. Our spreadsheet will be our “headquarters” so you have awareness every step of the way! We will present the spreadsheet, mood boards, and room layouts for project submission, then the client is responsible for purchasing and installing all items.
To retain our services, it’s an initial $750, which includes our first phone consult, the first 3 design hours, plus the time to create up to 3 room concept boards (each takes about an hour to develop) along with updating your spreadsheet.
If additional design hours are needed to complete the project, or if the client has additional needs, these hours will be billed at our hourly design rate of $100/hour. This is made transparent to clients in our spreadsheet. Single Room Design.
This is for you if you want us to design a singular specific space, source all of the items based on your exact spacial and budgetary needs, and design/ plan renovation changes (based on your budget and ability).
$375: This includes the initial briefing consult to discuss the space you are wanting designed, any renovation needs, style desires, functionality, flow, and total project budget. This also includes a mood board to present the room’s overall design, all product links, and one design hour.
This consultation is per space in the home you are wanting designed. If you would like additional rooms/spaces designed, an additional $375 will be necessary to discuss and fully design the additional space. If you have 3+ spaces, it’s most cost efficient to consider the above Complete Design package.
$100/hour for Additional Design Planning. Sometimes for completion, the project will require extra dedicated hours. We will be transparent beforehand about estimated hours for completion upon request, and you can set max total hours. This is billed weekly.
Find my materials/products.
Maybe you already have the vision of what you are wanting, but need our assistance in finding the best product for your needs! You know you want aged stone flooring, but want us to provide you options to choose from that you can trust are quality. Maybe you know you want a particular dresser, but need help sourcing options. Or maybe you want us to locate a “feeling thrifty” find for your space to help you repurpose and save! We can help there too!
$100/hour of sourcing, minimum of one hour. Estimated hours needed for your scope of project are shared up front for transparency and can be set to a max. Want this but have questions? You can still click “book” below and we can work out the details to fit your needs.
Create a mood board for my room.
It all begins with a vision. Do you have a space that you would love to be designed by us? Our starting service begins with us creating a “mood board” (or a picture showing you your space transformed) based on your style desires, your particular space’s needs, and your overall visual goals. The mood board will include color schemes, product picture suggestions, renovation & DIY ideas based on your wants/abilities so that you are given a true vision of what your space can become to then run with on your own! Only one graphic will be provided; no specific links for products given. This is an overall look for you to work from designed by us so it has a David and Tara Design feel, and then presented to you to then complete. A great entry design point for those wanting to see their space transformed in our unique style and to have a visual from which to work.
$175/room flat rate.
Create it for me.
This is two fold here!
1) Do you want us to flip a piece of furniture for you like these chairs, find a steal item and upcycle it to fit your space, create a piece of art, build you a custom piece of furniture like this dining table? We do that too!
2) Or maybe you know what DIY you want to do. A furniture flip… or even installing paneling on a wall, building a stone accent, installing a floating beam, texturing walls, etc. You know the reno project you want to tackle, but need us to teach you how to do it safely along with our tips to save money? We can teach and walk you through your particular project!
