Hi, We’re David & Tara.
Two entrepreneurs, six kids, one very full life, and a belief that we don't have to wait for someday to create a life we love living.
We Started With a Life We Wanted to Design.
Long before David & Tara Design became a website, it was simply what we were doing with our lives.
Building businesses. Raising babies. Renovating houses. Taking risks. Changing directions. Homeschooling our kids. Learning about wellness. Making mistakes. Dreaming bigger. Starting over.
We've never fit particularly neatly into one box.
And eventually we realized we didn't want to because all of these things are connected.
The home we're creating affects how our family lives. Our health affects how much energy we have to experience it. Our businesses create opportunities and options to live the comfortable life we live. Our family determines what success actually means to us.
We're not trying to perfectly balance all of it. We're learning how to create harmony between the things that matter most.
And that's what David & Tara Design has ultimately become about:
Designing our lives, not just our home.
It started with a house.
Years ago, because of friends nudging us, we started sharing our home online while renovating and designing spaces ourselves.
What began as home projects unexpectedly grew into a community of people following along as we transformed our house.
Opportunities followed. We were shopped by television networks. Design clients. Viral videos. A growing audience.
For a while, we wondered if design was supposed to become our next business.
But somewhere along the way, we realized something.
We loved designing our own life more than we loved designing someone else's four walls.
So we stopped trying to box in David & Tara Design into being solely a design company because the story had become much bigger than the house. And we had more to share.
We were raising lots of kiddos. Homeschooling. Building other businesses. Leading tens of thousands of people worldwide in their businesses. Learning to protect our time. Becoming more intentional about our health. Creating wealth. Renovating our dream home. And continually asking ourselves a bigger question:
What do we actually want our life to look like?
What do we want to design?
This site is where all of those conversations finally have a home.
