Light it up.
We opted for a mix of modern along with Spanish revival lighting to flow with the rest of our home and give that elevated old world feel.
The appliances.
For our appliances, we wanted quality with practicality. We went with a double oven with griddle from Thor and then a @sharphomeusa drawer microwave. We kept our GE Monogram fridge but just replaced the acrylic white panels with maple panels that we stained. We added a @kitchenaidusa under cabinet ice maker as a wish list item! We opted for a black @boschhomeus dishwasher and black Kitchen Aid trash compactor. So needed on the ranch! Last, we kept our @generalelectric warming drawer but replaced the white acrylic front with a custom wood panel to blend with the cabinets!
The specs.
Our wall color is Hailstorm Grey. The most perfect color we have found to date with zero undertone reflections! Meaning true to color and doesn’t pull yellow or blue.
The lighter cabinets match the trim throughout our home in Sculptors Clay- a beautiful greige that offers nice contract to the wall. Our bottom cabinets are a satin ebony allowing some dimension from the natural cherry walnut wood under them.
Our wood colors are weathered gray since our ranch has created a lot of that color on the exterior along with Jacobean outer butcher blocks for a clean yet modern look!
Dream kitchen.
I feel like I’m in a European vintage kitchen ready to cook for a large family!
She’s done!
She’s done! She’s been through 2.5 remodels, but she finally made it! There are two sides the kitchen, so we wanted to group them together to make it feel more connected. So you’ll see aligned shelving at the same height to connect everything together horizontally! We also have always been drawn to European organic open kitchens- for at least 12 years! So when we said “let’s go all out and really do what we envision as it comes”... we did! We wanted old world revival meets European farm meets organic comfort. And we definitely wanted practical.
Sneak peek.
This past month, we have focused on landscaping the ranch and getting the outdoors all set before the peak of summer heat! But in the meantime, we have been slowly renovating the kitchen with our final design decisions! Hoping to be all finished be end of July/early August....but renovations always surprise you in timelines lol! Do y’all like so far?! I mean, the range + vent hood = swoon to me! All created by hand by David, could I be any luckier?!
